Yet another short-sighted move by the mayor. We could save far more money by having flag crews rather than police officers at city projects that require traffic monitoring. Why are we paying double and triple time for officers that aren't even paying attention to traffic. They are busy on their phones, their backs are to traffic when chatting with work crews or each other, and generally not worth the money spent. Many other states us flag crews with great success and with large savings for the taxpayers and the budget. This also has not been a law in this state since Deval Patrick was governor - 2007 - 2015. And perhaps the work crews could pick up the cones and detour signs instead of leaving them all over the place.
When will people understand that there is nothing left to cut? Good thing there are more of us who are in favor of an override than people think. Bring on the vote!
